Puducherry, April 7 -- Puducherry Manila Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (PMMMK) founder-president Prof.M.Ramadass on Tuesday expressed regret that no one is concerned about obtaining St,atehood status for Puducherry.
In a statement here, Prof.Ramadass said the demand for Statehood was once again been abandoned in the assembly elections.
Prime minister Narendra Modi, who came to Puducherry twice, was tightlipped on the issue and the BJP's election manifesto too was silent on it he said, adding, the ruling N R Congress in its manifesto has stated that it will press for Statehood. It was not known how far they will press the demand. It was clear that even the N R Congress will not also show any real concern in getting Statehood hereafter.
