Lucknow, April 28 -- Farmers adopting rip irrigation (micro-irrigation) have seen up to a 25 per cent increase in sugarcane yield. The method was promoted by the Uttar Pradesh government, which has made continuous efforts over the past nine years to benefit farmers by promoting various technologies.

The Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Department has promoted drip irrigation, and farmers adopting this method have seen up to a 25 per cent increase in sugarcane yield.
