Bengaluru, July 27 -- Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshawar Khandre on Monday asserted that Karnataka's revamped VB G Ramji employment scheme is fully funded, dismissing concerns over resource constraints and announcing a Rs 2,900 crore first-quarter allocation to generate 1.5 crore person-days of employment.
Addressing reporters at Vikas Soudha, Khandre said the Centre has contributed Rs 1,700 crore and the state government Rs 1,200 crore under the 60:40 funding pattern, adding that the funds are adequate to provide employment to five lakh rural workers every month.
"There is absolutely no shortage of funds. Everyone seeking work under the scheme will be provided employment," he said.
