Bengaluru, Aug. 28 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Friday assured that there was no financial constraint in tackling the drought situation in the State and said more taluks would be declared drought-hit based on periodic assessments.

Responding to concerns over the exclusion of several drought-hit areas from the government's first list, he said the situation would be reviewed every 15 days and additional taluks would be brought under the drought-hit category if they meet the prescribed criteria.

"There should be no apprehension among those whose taluks have not been included in the first list. We will evaluate the situation and declare those that qualify as drought-affected," he said.
