Kalaburagi, May 1 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday sought to cool speculation over a possible leadership change in Karnataka, reiterating that no date has been fixed yet for any decision on the issue.

Amid continuing discussions within the Karnataka Congress over leadership-sharing arrangements, Kharge said the party high command would take a decision only after detailed consultations with senior leaders.

"As of now, no date has been finalised, so it is premature to speculate on any changes," he told reporters.

Kharge said the Congress leadership follows a collective consultative process before taking important organisational and political decisions and urged against unnecessary speculation over the issue.
