Kakinada, July 17 -- District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr K. Anitha on Friday clarified that "no COVID-19 cases" have been reported anywhere in Kakinada district and urged the public not to panic.
Clarifying reports regarding the death of a 16-year-old girl from Gollaprolu, who had tested positive for COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC), Chennai, last week, the DMHO said the girl had been suffering from multiple chronic health conditions for several years and had received treatment at hospitals in Kakinada and Visakhapatnam.
She said the girl had undergone spleen surgery in November last year and later travelled to Chennai for advanced treatment.
