Bengaluru, May 30 -- Karnataka's political leadership transition appears to have been settled within the Congress, with party leader MC Sudhakar on Saturday asserting that there are "no claimants" to the Chief Minister's post and that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will assume charge with full support from outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Sudhakar told media persons that Siddaramaiah had clearly conveyed that Shivakumar would take over responsibility and had extended his wholehearted backing to ensure continuity of governance and the party's prospects in the 2028 Assembly elections.
