Aizawl, March 2 -- The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) under Mizoram's Health & Family Welfare Department on Monday urged residents not to panic over reports of a suspected outbreak of meningococcal meningitis at the Assam Regimental Centre (ARC) in Shillong, Meghalaya.

In an official statement, the IDSP said it has been closely tracking developments at the ARC, noting that a significant number of Mizos reside or are posted in the area. Health authorities in Mizoram are in touch with their counterparts and are monitoring the situation as a precautionary measure.
