Patna, April 23 -- In a significant political statement, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior JD(U) leader Vijay Choudhary today said that the decision to hand over the Chief Minister's post to the BJP was taken at the initiative of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which ultimately led to Samrat Choudhary becoming the Chief Minister of the state.

Speaking to mediapersons at the JD(U) state office in Patna, Choudhary asserted that Nitish Kumar himself proposed Samrat Choudhary's name for the top post, and the BJP leadership endorsed the proposal. He described the move as a reflection of "mutual respect and political balance" within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
