Patna, March 9 -- Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who formally joined the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) on Sunday, maintained a stoic silence over speculation that he could become the Chief Minister of the state if his father eventually shifts his political activities to New Delhi as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Nishant, who visited his native village Kalyan Bigaha to pay tributes to his late mother, told media persons that he had come there to seek her blessings.

He said that although his mother was no longer alive, her blessings would always remain with him and strengthen his resolve to shoulder new responsibilities.
