Hyderabad, March 2 -- The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), in collaboration with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) of the Canada High Commission, organised a national-level consultative workshop on advancing sustainable wage-based livelihood opportunities for transgender and gender-diverse communities in rural India on Monday.
The workshop, held as the culmination of extensive field-level research and interventions, brought together government officials, academicians, gender rights activists, sector skill councils, livelihood experts, employers and community leaders to chart practical pathways for sustainable livelihoods for rural and peri-urban transgender persons.
