Dharwad, April 14 -- Karnataka Police on Tuesday said nine people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old Youth Congress leader, who was allegedly attacked after assailants forcibly entered his residence in the city.

Police said the incident took place on April 10 at the house of the deceased, Firoz Pathan, in the Malapur area, triggering panic among local residents.

According to officials, between 9.30 pm and 10 pm, Pathan was at home when three to four individuals arrived and assaulted him. He suffered severe bleeding injuries and died on the spot.
