Bhalki (Karnataka), Aug. 28 -- Incessant rains lashed Bhalki taluka of Bidar district, leading to overflowing of bridges and largescale disruption of traffic, prompting the administration to declare a holiday for schools across the subdivision today, Assistant Controller Mukul Jain said.
He said as many as nine bridges in Bhalki taluka are currently under water, forcing authorities to suspend vehicular movement. Police Sub-Inspectors and revenue officials have been deployed on the ground to monitor the situation and prevent any untoward incidents.
