Madrid, Oct. 24 -- Iago Aspas was honored by his club and fans after becoming Celta Vigo's all-time appearances leader on Thursday, also marking the occasion with a vital goal.
The 38-year-old striker, now on 533 appearances, needed just a minute to put his side ahead in its Europa League tie at home to Nice, which ended in a 2-1 win for the Spanish team.
Celta's lead lasted 15 minutes before Mohamed Ali-Cho leveled after cutting inside defender Marcos Alonso and scoring with a left-footed shot. The visitors suffered a setback in the 34th minute when Nice captain Jonathan Clauss was shown two yellow cards within minutes, leaving his side with 10 men.
