Bengaluru, Aug. 10 -- The Karnataka government appears caught between abandoning and completing the long-pending NICE Road project, with nearly 23,000 acres of land and unresolved claims of farmers continuing to complicate its efforts to find a way forward.
Home Minister G Parameshwara, who heads the government sub-committee examining the project, on Monday acknowledged the scale of the problem, saying the government was still assessing how much of the acquired land had actually been utilised, how much might have to be returned and what could be done within the legal framework of the original agreement.
