Burdwan, Sept. 29 -- A four-member NIA team raided a small village in Mongalkote, East Burdwan, in the early hours of Tuesday and detained the imam of a local mosque shortly after he emerged from the mosque following the morning prayers, on suspicion of having links with Jamat-ul-Mujahideen, triggering a stir in the area.
According to locals' statements, a team of sleuths arrived at the Boro Masjid in Purba Para, Palishgram village, under No. 2 Shimulia Panchayat, at around 4.30 am, looking for the Imam Piar Mohammad Sheikh.
