New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has initiated suo motu proceedings over the reported sexual assault of a woman at the Civil Hospital in Panipat, Haryana, followed by her death during treatment at a hospital in Rohtak.
The Commission took cognizance of a media report concerning the alleged assault of a 57-year-old woman during a diagnostic examination at the Panipat hospital on August 16. She subsequently died while undergoing treatment at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, on August 18.
