New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today issued notices to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police and the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, seeking a detailed report within two weeks in connection with the death of a disabled woman who was gang raped and brutally assaulted.
In a statement, the rights body said it has taken suo motu cognisance of the death of the hearing-impaired woman in her Ghaziabad residence on August 21.
The incident follows a brutal assault allegedly committed by two men in the Loni area on August 18.
