New Delhi, Dec. 30 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognisance of the murder of a student Angel Chakma from Tripura, who was brutally assaulted in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, leading to his death during medical treatment.
Calling for a detailed report on the action taken in the matter so far, a Bench presided over by Member Priyank Kanoongo has issued a notice to the Uttarakhand government.
"The report is expected to include details of the investigation, steps taken to apprehend the accused, and measures initiated to prevent recurrence of such incidents" the source revealed.
