Shimla, July 1 -- Taking serious note of the failure to carry out mandatory compensatory plantation, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday impleaded the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Solan, and two private individuals as respondents in a suo motu case relating to tree felling in Himachal Pradesh.
A Bench comprising Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi, Judicial Member, and Dr A Senthil Vel, Expert Member, passed the order while hearing Original Application , titled "National Green Tribunal on Its Own Motion versus State of Himachal Pradesh and Others."The Tribunal took on record replies filed by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Solan, and the Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board (HPPCB).
