Shimla, July 18 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has expressed serious concern over the state of solid waste and sewage management in Himachal Pradesh, observing that significant deficiencies in scientific waste processing and treatment continue to threaten public health and the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.

The Tribunal has issued 32 comprehensive directions to the state government to ensure compliance with environmental laws and strengthen waste management systems.
