Shimla, July 15 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has deferred hearing on a petition challenging the proposed establishment of a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) inside Nehru Park at Sarwari in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, noting that the issue is already pending before the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
The Principal Bench of the Tribunal, comprising Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Chairperson, and Dr Afroz Ahmad, Expert Member, was hearing original application filed by Sanjay Kapoor against the proposed waste handling facility in the public park.
The applicant had objected to the setting up of the MRF within Nehru Park.
