Hyderabad, April 24 -- The National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) has submitted a comprehensive report outlining safety measures for the excavation of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel to Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Friday.
The report, presented by NGRI Chief Scientist Satyanarayana, details critical safety protocols to be followed during tunnel excavation, with a focus on preventing accidents. It is based on advanced studies using technologies such as seismic imaging and electrical resistivity tomography to identify potential risks, including stress zones, water seepage, and geological conditions.
