Agartala, May 18 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has geared up to launch Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train services in Tripura by June this year.

This initiative promises to redefine the state's railway transportation by introducing faster, eco-friendly, and cost-effective travel options for daily commuters.

NFR officials said plans are underway to operate MEMU trains in Agartala-Dharmanagar and Agartala-Sabroom routes. The project follows the successful completion of full railway electrification across Tripura. Multiple trial runs of electric trains have already been conducted across various segments of the state's network, confirming operational readiness.
