Ch. Sambhajinagar, Sept. 4 -- India's revolutionary Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0 reform, which will take effect from September 22, 2025, is set to bring significant relief to household budgets by drastically reducing taxes on everyday essentials used in homes across the country.

The GST Council, in its 56th meeting held yesterday, approved a new two-slab structure that will replace the complex four-tier system, making numerous household items substantially more affordable for consumers.

Personal care products will witness the most dramatic reductions, with GST slashed from 18 percent to just 5 percent. This category includes hair oil, shampoos, toothpaste, toilet soap bars, toothbrushes, and shaving cream.
