Next gen GST reforms to make economy transparent, cut compliance burden, enable small business to thrive: Nirmala

Chennai, Sept. 2 -- union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said the next generation reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will make the economyopen and transparent, reduce compliance burden and enable small businesses to thrive.

Speaking at the 120th Foundation Day of the Swadeshi Banking Legacy of the City union Bank (CUB) here, she said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recentlyannounced the setting up of a Task Force for next generation economic reforms.

She said Modi's mandate is clear -to simplify regulations, lower compliance costs and also build a more enabling eco system for start ups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).
