Tokyo, Sept. 15 -- New Zealand's Geordie Beamish delivered a dramatic upset in the men's 3,000m steeplechase final at the World Athletics Championships today, outsprinting Morocco's Soufiane El Bakkali in the final strides to secure his first global title.
Beamish, 28, clocked 8:33.88, edging out two-time Olympic champion and two-time world champion El Bakkali by a mere 0.07 seconds.
