Chennai, Nov. 15 -- A new Low Pressure Area has formed over te Bay of Bengaltoday and it is expected to revive the Northeast monsoon rainfall activity for the nextfew days, with heavy rains in coastal, delta and southern districts, after a brief lull.

Met office sources today said under the influence of yesterday's upper air cycloniccirculation over South Sri Lanka and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, a LowPressure area has formed over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast at0830 hrs today.

The associated cyclonic upper air circulation extends upto 5.8 km above meansea level tilting southwest with height.
