Pankaj Jain, Feb. 2 -- A new water treatment plant with a capacity of about 105 million gallons per day (MGD) is being constructed at Chandrawal in Delhi at a cost of Rs 599 crore and is expected to become operational later this year, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.
Ahead of the summer season, the Chief Minister convened a high-level review meeting of the Delhi Jal Board at the Delhi Secretariat to strengthen the capital's water supply system. Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Verma and senior officials attended the meeting.
Briefing after the review, Gupta said the Chandrawal water treatment plant would significantly boost Delhi's water infrastructure.
