New Delhi, April 8 -- Newly-appointed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Tamim Iqbal began his tenure with his first official meeting with the ad-hoc executive committee at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, signalling the start of a crucial rebuilding phase for Bangladesh cricket.

The board is expected to convene again in the coming days as it works through an important transitional period.

Tamim's appointment follows the dissolution of the previous BCB leadership after a probe found former president Aminul Islam guilty of corruption during last year's elections.

Taking charge at a time of administrative uncertainty, Tamim made it clear that restoring trust in the system would be the immediate priority.
