Kolkata, June 30 -- Distancing the party from the recent spate of egg attacks on political leaders, BJP West Bengal president, Samik Bhattacharya, on Tuesday said the saffron party neither endorsed nor supported such acts.

"People who had "suddenly" begun identifying themselves as BJP workers after the party's electoral success have become a major concern for the organisation and the party was finding it difficult to rein in them," he said addressing a meeting organised by the BJP Teachers' Cell in Kolkata.

"These people are one of our main concerns as they are proving to be a major headache for us," he said, describing them as "Char Ghontay BJP" (a four-hour BJP convert).
