Bengaluru, Nov. 16 -- The Netherlands secured a commanding 3-0 win over India on the final day of the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium here.

In the opening singles, Koevermans overpowered India's Shrivalli Bhamidipaty (World No. 381) with a composed 6-2, 6-4 victory. The Dutch player broke early to take a 2-1 lead and controlled the first set comfortably. Bhamidipaty offered resistance in the second set, but Koevermans' consistency proved decisive.

Koevermans later said she had told her captain she wanted to "run for every ball" to stay focused and force errors from her opponent.

World No. 89 Suzan Lamens then sealed the tie for the visitors with a 6-2, 6-3 win over India's Sahaja Yamalapalli (World No. 309)...
