Jerusalem/Ankara, July 6 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the US not to provide Turkiye with F-35 fighter jets or key aircraft components, warning that such a move would "upset the power balance" in West Asia.
Speaking to Fox News on Monday, Netanyahu argued that supplying advanced military technology to Ankara would be a mistake, particularly given Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's strong anti-Israel rhetoric.
"I don't think they should be given F-35s or the engines for their fighter jets, because that'll upset the power balance in the Middle East, which is ultimately guaranteed by Israeli air superiority and also by, I think, by America's posture in the Middle East," Netanyahu said.
