Shimla, March 6 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated a robotic surgery facility at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College in Nerchowk of Mandi district, marking a major step towards strengthening advanced healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh. The facility has been established at a cost of Rs 28.44 crore.
With the launch of this system, Nerchowk becomes the third government medical institution in the state to offer robotic surgery after Atal Super Speciality Hospital Chamiyana in Shimla and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda in Kangra district.
The Chief Minister also observed the first surgery performed using the new robotic system during his visit.
