Shillong, June 20 -- Prof. Nirmalendu Saha, Dean of the School of Life Sciences of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya, has been suspended following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a bribery case, an official said on Friday.
Saha was caught red-handed by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 3.43 lakh from Pranjal Sharma, the proprietor of a Guwahati-based supply firm.
The duo was arrested during a CBI-led trap operation at the Gauhati University guest house on June 10.
