Pune, May 30 -- Senior economist, former Rajya Sabha MP and former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mumbai, Dr. Bhalchandra Mungekar on Wednesday said that India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had established a strong moral stature across the world through an independent foreign policy during the Cold War era.
"When the world was divided between the United States and the Soviet union during the Cold War, Nehru attempted to create a third force through an independent foreign policy. Nehru enjoyed moral authority globally," Mungekar said.
