Lonato (Italy), July 11 -- Neeru Dhanda won the gold in the women's trap event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup 2026 here on Saturday to register India in the medal standings.
This was Neeru Dhanda's first-ever individual medal at the ISSF World Cup and the second overall in her career, according to olympics.com.
Neeru had paired up with Vivaan Kumar to win the mixed trap bronze at the Almaty leg earlierthis year. Incidentally, it was also India's only ISSF World Cup medal in shotgun events this year before Neeru's win in Italy.
Having made the final after topping the qualifiers with 121 points out of a maximum possible 125, Neeru carried the momentum into the eight-woman final.
