Aichi-Nagoya, Oct. 3 -- Teenager Neeraj Chauhan ended India's 16-year wait for a men's individual recurve medal at the Asian Games, holding his nerve in a thrilling all-Indian bronze-medal clash to beat top seed Dhiraj Bommadevara 6-4 here on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Neeraj, who had been staring at defeat after falling 2-4 behind, produced a perfect 30 in the fourth set before edging Dhiraj 29-28 in the decider to clinch the bronze.

The victory brought India its first men's individual recurve medal at the Asian Games since Tarundeep Rai won silver at Guangzhou in 2010.

The bronze medal was particularly significant for Neeraj after he had missed out on a place in the final, losing 1-7 to Japan's Junya Nakanishi in the semifinal. He bounc...
