Mumbai, Aug. 16 -- Filmmaker Raja Krishna Menon remains determined to tell the story of late Manipuri boxing champion Ngangom Dingko Singh, despite his earlier plans for the biopic falling through with Shahid Kapoor attached to play the lead, but this time with a much younger face.
The filmmaker now believes the casting needs to be rethought, particularly because some of the most important chapters of Dingko's life unfolded when he was still in his twenties.
"I don't know if Shahid would be interested anymore in doing it because, one, Dingko was very young. in his 20s. when much of his life's story took place. It's definitely a film that needs to be made. And it needs to be made with someone younger," according to Variety India.
