On Sunday, a 25-year-old woman devotee from Sigra, who was bathing in the sacred waters of the Ganges at Rajendra Ghat, suddenly lost her balance and fell into the deep water, beginning to drown.
At that moment, NDRF (11th Battalion, National Disaster Response Force) personnel stationed on picket duty at Rajendra Ghat saw the woman in distress and, without wasting a moment, jumped into the deep water. They then safely rescued the woman and brought her back to the ghat.
