New Delhi, March 19 -- The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of media reports alleging obscenity and vulgarity in the song "Tattiri".
Acting under the provisions of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, the Commission has initiated proceedings in the matter.
In a statement, the NCW said that the content of the song prima facie appears to be objectionable and potentially violative of multiple legal provisions, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
