Hyderabad, March 12 -- National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar on Thursday commended the Telangana Police for taking several initiatives to ensure the safety of women in the state.
Speaking at the "Mahila Jana Sunvai" (public hearing) programme organised at the Medchal-Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate as part of International Women's Day week celebrations, Rahatkar appreciated the proactive steps taken by the police to support women and urged them to respond promptly to complaints and prioritise women's safety.
During the programme, she reviewed around 35 complaints received from across the district, including cases related to domestic violence, harassment, abandonment by family members and cybercrimes. She direct...
