Bhubaneswar, April 27 -- The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has initiated an inquiry into the death of a Class V tribal girl student following a suspected food poisoning incident at Kakabandha Ashram School in Nalgaja Panchayat under Rasgovindpur block of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
The student died while several others fell ill after consuming allegedly contaminated food served at the residential school.
Acting on a complaint filed by Biju Janata Dal media coordinator Priyabrata Majhi, the Commission has issued notices to the Mayurbhanj District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and the ST & SC Development Department.
