Panchkula, July 15 -- Eighteen children have been rescued from child labour in Panchkula district since January this year, even as the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) directed the administration to ensure mandatory FIR registration in every case of a child below 14 years being found employed.

The disclosure came during a review meeting of the District Task Force on Child Labour, chaired by Sh K.P.J. Gerald, Senior Consultant, NCPCR, at the Mini Secretariat here today. Deputy Commissioner Sh Satpal Sharma and Sh Shubhankar Chaudhary from the NCPCR were also present.
