Nagpur, Sept. 10 -- Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar on Thursday said any possibility of a merger between the Sharad Pawar-led faction and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would arise only if the latter severed its ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Vidarbha, Rohit Pawar said ideological differences remained the biggest obstacle to any reunion.
He asserted that party workers and leaders aligned with Sharad Pawar could not accept an alliance with the BJP, and maintained that reunification could be considered only if the Ajit Pawar-led faction withdrew from the ruling coalition.
