Mumbai, June 26 -- The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a key constituent of the Maharashtra ruling Mahayuti alliance, on Friday officially distanced itself from the controversial remarks made by its MLA, Sana Malik, regarding 'Triple Talaq' and Islamic laws during the ongoing monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly.
NCP state president Sunil Tatkare, in a formal statement issued today, clarified that the views expressed by Malik were her own and did not reflect the party's official stance.
