Mumbai, April 29 -- The Mahayuti Alliance mainly comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction and NCP (Ajit Pawar) group is gearing up for the May 12 Maharashtra Legislative Council elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has already released its list of six candidates for the Coucil elections, keeping social engineering in mind. However, the candidate from Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction is yet to be finalized.
In the NCP (Ajit Pawar) faction, there is intense competition as the party has been allotted only one seat based on its current strength. State President Sunil Tatkare told reporters here that the party will announce its candidate this evening.
