Kochi, Aug. 25 -- The Indian Navy is set to commission Nipun, the second indigenous Diving Support Vessel (DSV) of the Nistar-class, at the Naval Dockyard here on August 31, strengthening its deep-sea diving, underwater intervention and submarine rescue capabilities.
The induction of the specialised vessel will mark a significant addition to the Navy's underwater operational capabilities and the beginning of Nipun's transition from construction to operational service, a release said here today.
