Kochi, Sept. 18 -- Construction of the first of six Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMV) for the Indian Navy formally commenced with the steel cutting ceremony held at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL).
Rear Admiral Kapil Mehta, Assistant Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition at the Integrated Headquarters of the Indian Navy, performed the steel cutting of the first steel plate for Ship No. BY-532.
The ceremony held on Thursday marked the commencement of construction of the NGMV, a class of missile vessels being built by CSL for the Indian Navy.
