Srinagar, March 17 -- A Navy Marine Commando (MARCOS) sustained critical injuries after falling into the Jhelum River during a search operation in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.
The injured commando was part of a joint team comprising Navy personnel, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Baramulla and J&K police that had resumed a search operation at Chandanwari Boniyar.
Officials said the team was conducting searches to trace the body of a woman who had reportedly jumped into the river on March 13 when the incident occurred.
